Best Lady, the Shirley Stafford Trophy and the Best Novice Trophy

Suzy Dignan's collects her trophys

2006 proved to be an exciting start to Suzy’s motor racing career. It all kicked off in June when a three-day elimination camp saw her see off 84 rival women all with the same dream - to race in the Formula Woman Championship, driving fully race prepared Caterham Roadsport race cars.

The 8-round double header races were held from July to September at Pembrey, Mallory Park, Brands Hatch and Snetterton. Suzanne finished a satisfying 6th place overall, won the Team Trophy and set fastest lap in the last race. Suzanne also managed to squeeze in 8 sprints and 4 hill-climbs with the MG Luffield Cars Speed Championship and finished an impressive 5th overall (from some 84 competitors). She also won Best Lady, the Shirley Stafford Trophy and the Best Novice Trophy.

She has recently been honoured by the British Women Racing Drivers Club and received the Helen Spence Trophy from David Brabham for her successes over the past year.
